Inspiring Seldovia
A small town with a rich history, Seldovia has long been a meeting place for Alaska Native people, fur trappers, fisherman, crabbers, or simply those wanting to experience the incredible natural splendor of Kachemak Bay.
For over 20 years, the Seldovia Arts Council has been dedicated to showcasing and educating our community and visitors about music, drama, film and fine arts, plus educational talks about travel and nature and activities promoting health and well-being. All inspired by our unique surroundings, we enrich our community with events and programs year-round. These offerings include the following: Seldovia Summer Solstice Music Festival, Songs on the Slough, Guitar Masters Concert, Higgy’s En Plen Air Art Week, Photo Essay series, Earth Day Film Festival, Jakolof Bay 10 Mile Bike/Run, Salmon Shuffle, Drama Camp, Christmas Tree Lighting and the Winter Music Series of concerts.
Visual Arts
The stunning natural splendor of Kachemak Bay - mountains, wildlife, forests, and coastline - serves as an inspiration for artists.
Music
Especially in the summertime, Seldovia comes alive with concerts and music festivals featuring Alaskan musicians and visitors from across the country.
Outdoors
We host educational series and running events to both learn about and experience the natural world that surrounds our community.
